You Can Help Us Make a Difference
There are many ways that individuals and corporations can support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Honolulu (BBBSH) and make a difference in the lives of children in our community.
Individuals can support BBBSH by becoming a Big Brother or Big Sister in one of our two mentoring programs. They can also serve on the BBBSH speaker’s bureau , volunteer in the BBBSH office, or at a BBBSH special event / fundraiser. Individuals can also give monetary donations.
A corporation can provide support by getting employees involved in mentoring. When employees see that their company cares about the community and its children, morale is boosted, thereby increasing productivity.
Companies can "adopt" a school in the Site-Based Program and get their employees involved in mentoring. Corporations can also provide monetary support. It takes approximately $1000 to match a child in the school-based or community-based program. Companies can also donate school supplies or adopt a BBBSH family at Christmas.
It takes everyone from our community for BBBSH to really make a difference in the lives of our keiki!

Each year, we receive needed support from the individuals and organizations who donate to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Honolulu. Proceeds raised from these donations help match up more of Hawaii's children with caring adult mentors.
Donating will help to:
- Recruit new Big Brother and Big Sister volunteers
- Cover the costs of background checks and insurance, while ensuring trained professionals match children to caring and responsible Bigs .
- Offer one-on-one, ongoing supervision and support for every match
- Provide cultural and social activities to enrich the opportunities for children
No matter how much you give, donating will improve the lives of young people in our community. Your donation will help them meet the challenges of growing up into happy, confident young adults.
