Bridge to the Future - Actus Lend Lease & Big Brothers Big Sisters of Honolulu Partnership

A partnership with Actus Lend Lease and the Construction Academy at Waipahu High School resulted in a specially designed program appropriately named Construction Internship: Bridge to the Future. This unique collaboration allows high school students an opportunity to not only be personally mentored by a Actus employee in the field of construction, but also rewards student participants with summer internships at Actus Lend Lease.

This past school year the Actus Bigs met their student prot駩s at Waipahu High School where together they worked on various projects and activities. One of the challenges presented to the matches was to design a product that would prevent an egg from breaking when dropped from a two-story structure. As you can imagine, there were some very noteworthy ideas that worked and a few that despite gallant efforts, resulted in a messy reenactment of Humpty Dumpty's unfortunate end.
